Recognizing the need for continuous adaptation to technological developments and the increased demands of the modern digital environment, the Authority proceeded with a substantive revision of its Digital Policy for the years 2026 – 2028. This revision aims to ensure that the Authority continues to contribute decisively and effectively to the modernization of the betting and gambling sector within Cypriot society.
The updated Digital Policy includes the evaluation and revision of existing guidelines, with the objective of optimizing processes and ensuring the smooth integration of modern digital practices. At the same time, it incorporates new tools, technological approaches, and methodologies that support the adoption of a comprehensive digital strategy across all functions of the Authority. In this way, continuous system upgrades are achieved, operational efficiency is enhanced, and high-quality services are provided to citizens and relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, it establishes a framework of targeted and coordinated actions, promoting innovation, strengthening security, and ensuring that the betting and gambling sector evolves in a responsible, sustainable, and technologically advanced manner.
Considering the above, as well as our fundamental principles and the Government’s strategy, six Digital Policy focus pillars have been defined for the years 2026 – 2028:
- Completion of the digitization of internal operations
- Digitization of services and activities for supervised entities and the public
- Enhancement of digital skills
- Cybersecurity
- Strengthening of existing infrastructures and technologies
- Development and modernization of the sector
