Conclusion of the activities of Responsible Gaming Awareness Week
This year’s Responsible Gaming Awareness Week was successfully concluded on the 13th of October 2019. The awareness week was the 2nd edition of the effort organized by the National Betting Authority in collaboration with the National Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission, and was held on the 7th till the 13th October 2019 in Cyprus, with the contribution of all stakeholders of the gambling industry in Cyprus. The slogan/theme for this year’s event was Let’s keep it a game.
The RGAW’s 2019 primary goal was to raise public awareness on the topic of responsible gambling and educate all stakeholders, as well as mobilize all stakeholders and society on ensuring responsible gambling practices and protecting the public from any negative consequences of problem gambling.
The launch event of the Responsible Gaming Awareness Week was the 2nd Responsible Gaming Conference, where internationally renowned professionals and experts discussed and presented their knowledge and expertise to more than 250 participants. During the week, there were various activities at schools and universities, as well as seminars and trainings for industry employees and the public. The main goal was the discussion around responsible gambling practices and negative consequences from problem gambling.
